Laser Bacterial Reduction (LBR)

We know that approximately 80% of adults are affected with gum disease (aka: periodontal disease).  It is a growing epidemic in our society and is starting to affect our youth.  Periodontal Disease is a bacterial infection in your mouth affecting gum tissues around your teeth.

Diode Lasers are now being used to decontaminate the gum tissue and pockets around teeth prior to dental cleanings as a preventative care.  The laser emits concentrated light energy, which vaporizes unhealthy bacteria, a procedure known as Laser Bacterial Reduction (LBR).

LBR is the first step done at your cleaning appointment and takes about 3-5 minutes.  LBR has many major benefits: reduce or eliminate bacterium, prevent cross contamination of infections, and to kill periodontal disease bacteria.
